Information about the Spring 2026 Peer Tutoring Program
Before completing the Peer Tutor Request Form, please note that due to high demand, it may take up to one week for you to be contacted.
You must submit a separate request form for each course. Please enter only one course per form.
Valpo students must be signed in to their Valpo Gmail account to complete this form.
The Academic Success Center (ASC) will accept Peer Tutor Request Forms from Friday, January 16th at 12:00 p.m. CST through Friday, April 17th at 12:00 p.m. CST. After this deadline, the Spring 2026 Peer Tutoring Program will be closed to new participants.
The ASC coordinates the Peer Tutoring Program, which matches students with trained peer tutors for weekly academic support in a specific undergraduate course. Before submitting a request, students are expected to speak with their professor and use available first-level academic support options, such as professor office hours, department help sessions, PAL sessions, and drop-in tutoring at the Writing Center or Hesse Learning Resource Center.
Participation in the Peer Tutoring Program is based on tutor availability and student demand. Listing more available times on the form increases your chances of being matched with a tutor.
If a tutor match is found, you will receive a Tutoring Assignment Notification by email from the Academic Success Center with your tutor’s name. Your tutor will then contact you to schedule a Meet & Greet session to review program expectations and select a weekly meeting time. If a tutor match is not available, you will receive an email with next steps.
Students accepted into the program are expected to attend one 1-hour tutoring session per week throughout the semester and keep their assigned appointment time. Most tutoring sessions are small group sessions with 2–3 classmates, so please expect to work with other students.
If you have questions about the program or need to follow up on your request, please visit the ASC website or email Academic.Success@valpo.edu
